Fez, Morocco

Fez, Morocco 04.05.16 - 09.05.16

Much more of an Aladin-like city than we expected, Fez is overflowing with the magic of the Arabian Night in the form of sandy buildings, leather factories and hanging rugs. A labyrinth of colors.

Tangier, Morocco

Tangier, Morocco 09.05.16 - 13.05.16

A breath of ocean air after crowded Fez, Tangier proves to be the perfect Spanish-Moroccan mix as portrayed in "The Alchymist". Streets flow with argan oil and the ocean views smell like tagine.

Chefchauen, Morocco

Chefchauen, Morocco 13.05.16 - 18.05.16

The blue city of Chefchauen took our breath away! It would have been beautiful with its mountains, waterfalls and winding streets no matter what, but soaked in blue it's absolutely stunning.

Asilah, Morocco

Asilah, Morocco 18.05.16 - 21.05.16

The small town of Asilah gave us a taste of the local Moroccan life with its conservative people and abundance of hot mint tea in spite of the boiling sun.

Rabat, Morocco

Rabat, Morocco 21.05.16 - 24.05.16

We unexpectedly found ourselves in the middle of Africa's biggest music festival and had the pleasure of experience a sea of people singing along to Maítre Gims' "Bella".

Essaouria, Morocco

Essaouira, Morocco 24.05.16 - 29.05.16

This coastal city stole our hearts and is probably a place we'll come back to some day - especially since our time here ended abruptly with an ambulance ride to a hospital in Marrakech (we're OK).

Marrakech, Morocco

Marrakech, Morocco 28.05.16 - 02.06.16

Marrakech was exactly as filled with scams and tourist traps as we had feared and exactly as full of secrets and mystery as we'd hoped. Avoiding the main square at any cost and venturing far into the tiny alleyways, it was a beautiful experience.

Sahara, Morocco

Sahara Desert, Morocco 03.07.16 - 05.07.16
We had to see Sahara and booked a weekend tour to the desert. Lots of interesting sights, a very sore behind, sleeping under the stars and exhausting climbs up giant sand dunes. Definitely worth it.

Ouarzazate, Morocco

Ouarzazate, Morocco 06.06.16 - 08.06.16

A couple days in a tiny village near the desert. All buildings were made of clay, the community decorated the streets with hand painted pots and we met not only a girl who was in Game of Thrones but also an old man who has been cast to play a certain Osama in over 20 movies. We thought it'd be a bad idea to share the pics we took with him though haha.

Ait Ben Haddou, Morocco

Ait Ben Haddou, Morocco 08.07.16 - 10.07.16

Last stop in Morocco was the sandy city starred in Game of Thrones - or rather, we didn't stay in the city itself but in a lonely Riad perched on top of an isolated hill about a mile into the dry desert. We felt like kings for a few days with out private pool and sandy view.
