The Best Travel Pillow for Neck Pains and Long Naps

We've written about Travel Pillows before and after a few more years of travel we decided to do an updated post on some new neck pillows we've tested during neverending flights across the world. We've been traveling over 500 days now so trust me we know a thing or two about the best hacks for getting a good night's rest in the most uncomfortable places in the world.

The perfect Travel Pillow for every environment

One word: Outstanding. This guy will be your best friend from day one. All it takes is one touch to understand what we're dealing with here. A complex memory foam molds to your head caressing your skull in a warm embrace as you doze off in literally any environment from cars to airplanes.

I have to admit that this is probably the best neck pillow I've ever used in my 2 years of travel. It's the perfect blend of portability and functionality. It feels like a real pillow that you can just take with you anywhere. It turns the entire world into your own personal bedroom and you really can't put a price on that. My own personal neck pains began to disappear after only a few weeks with this baby. One of my favorite features is that the outer cover is completely removable for cleaning which is rather unheard of.

Desk Jockey was a fairly unknown brand until this release but they've made quite a name for themselves as this item currently stands with 5/5 stars on Amazon. They even offer a 100% money back guarantee but you likely won't want to use it after you get addicted to this beautiful item.

Value for $$$:

A great value through and through. Infact I'm actually surprised they're not charging more, they could easily charge $60 or more for something that actually helps get rid of neck pains. Color me impressed. Not to mention that 100% guarantee makes this $30 investment a no-brainer.

Sex Appeal:

One of the best looking travel pillows I've ever seen. The usual travel pillow has that bulky bulging on the edges but not here. It's clear this is an extremely well designed product with the user in mind. No one will look at you strange when you pull this one out!

Overall:

The Good:

  • A Real pillow you can bring anywhere
  • Odor resistant
  • Memory foam core
  • Good balance of soft and firm
  • Simple and packable

THE VITALS:

 THE GROSS:

  • May not be firm enough
    for some

Funtionality:

The only pillow you'll need for both home and travel. Say goodbye to neck pain!

The only pillow you'll need for both home and travel. Say goodbye to neck pain!

This is a REAL pillow ideal for packing and storing in small spaces. It's essentially good enough to replace your pillow at home! This one also showcases memory foam at the perfect level of both comfort and firmness. When we tried it the first time I was blown away by how full it felt. Essentially this is the only pillow you'll ever need it's an all in one solution and could replace any pillow you had previously.

Support support support. This one is all about support for your neck built particularly with pain sufferers in mind. The BioSense pillow currently holds a 5/5 star review on Amazon and I can completely see why. The memory foam is a new experience for me and now I have no idea how I lived without it. I've never had such a good sleep on my bus ride to Budapest this summer.

Value for $$$:

While the price is a bit higher than usual I have to say that I had no regrets paying a bit extra for a pillow that can not only replace my pillow at home but also act as a 'bed away from home' wherever I am. After a few days of use I actually ended up preferring this to my at home pillows. It pays for itself after the first week of genuine sleep wherever you are.

The Best looking travel pillow you will ever find. Period. I can't imagine a more ideal pillow for travel as it looks and feels just like a pillow you would use at home but with a portability ideal for backpacks and carry-ons. This one is a no-brainer and you should grab it now while it's on sale!

Overall:

The Good

  • Cooling gel for neck pain
  • Some of the best memory foam available
  • Best neck support
  • Ultra portable
  • Ideal for upright naps on cars and planes

The Gross

  • Cooling gel doesn't work as well as we thought
  • A bit bulky in the back

Great support is the name of the game

Great support is the name of the game

This is one of the only neck pillows I could find with a cooling gel pad built in. We mostly wanted to test it for that reason as well as for the glowing reviews on Amazon. The first thing you'll notice with this neck pillow is how damn small it comes in the box. It compresses so much that it'll actually surprise you at first, this can fit in pretty much any backpack you have!

When you first put it on you'll notice that the support with the Enzo is immense. Your neck won't move at all no matter what conditions you find yourself. The memory foam is on point and acts as a firm yet soft support for your lower neck. I find this to be ideal for car rides and long bus trips where you're forced to sit upright for long periods.

Finally, the cooling pad acts as the icing on the cake. I have to admit it's not as strong as I had hoped but you definitely do notice a cool sensation on the back of your neck. My only complaint is that the back does feel a tad too bulky but some may actually like this especially taller people.

Value for $$$:

This is one of the biggest detractors from the pillow. There are many other options such as the Crafty World Comfort neck pillow for only $22 that serve pretty much the same purpose at the same comfort level. However if you're willing to pay the extra $8 for the cooling pad it could be worth it for you!

Sex Appeal:

Another small detractor is how bulky it is. This one is definitely not going to make you look like the James Bond of travel but really how important are looks when your neck pain begins to fade? I also like the color, subtle but fun.
